Phonemaker Xiaomi is winning big in the phone world: it became the largest phone seller in China, the world’s largest market. And now you can buy one of its top-rated Android phones for cheap here in the US.

Although Xiaomi itself isn’t selling its good-but-affordable models here yet (but they are in India and Brazil), carrier US Mobile, which runs on T-Mobile’s network, now lets you get your hands on Xiaomi handsets.

The tides are slowly turning in the smartphone space as entry-level and midrange devices displace flagship models on price. While we expect Xiaomi to enter the US with as much force as it has other markets around the world, this move by lesser-known carrier US Mobile is unlikely to make a big dent, especially as Xiaomi is far from a household name.

Now available through US Mobile:

Xiaomi Redmi 2 ($120)Xiaomi Mi 3 ($140)Xiaomi Mi 4 (220)

The prices are low for sure, but there is a big, fat catch. Since the phones aren’t made for the States, they don’t work with our 4G LTE bands. That means that buyers will need to be OK with slower 3G speeds, or plan to use their phone over Wi-Fi.
